Sample Release Forms
A release form is a written agreement between a photographer and the person being photographed or the person owning property that is being photographed. These forms protect photographers from future claims of invasion of privacy or defamation. It is in the best interest of photographers and clients to have proper release documentation for photo transactions.
Model releases should be maintained for any photographs containing recognizable people — not just professional models. Property release forms should be maintained for any personal property photographed such as a building or a pet. Public property, such as government buildings, is exempt from this need for a property release.
FocalPop requires that photographers maintain proper model models and property release forms for all submissions. The sample releases are provided for your convenience, but you may also use your own release form if you prefer.
